Nick was called to the bar in September 2013.

Nick has a broad practice focussing on industrial, criminal and personal injury law.

Nick represents businesses, individuals, registered organisations and government departments in federal and state courts. He also appears in conciliation and arbitration processes before the Fair Work Commission, NCAT and the NSW Workers Compensation Commission.

In 2014 Nick was appointed to Legal Aid’s General Criminal Law Panel. He is also an approved legal service provider for workers compensation matters.

Prior to commencing at the bar Nick was a Senior Associate in the Workplace Relations team at Holman Webb Lawyers. From 2008 to 2010 Nick practiced in London where he worked exclusively for the government legal service and resolved employment, taxation and border disputes.

Nick is admitted to practice in NSW, the ACT and England & Wales.

Nick graduated from the Australian National University with a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Laws in 2003.

Outside of the law Nick’s interests relate to sport and fitness. Nick is volunteer surf lifesaver with North Bondi Surf Lifesaving Club. He is also the honorary lawyer for Easts Cricket Club (Waverley) Inc.

Nick has protected the interests of persons called to give evidence before the Trade Union Royal Commission and the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse

Administrative Law

Represented individual client in disciplinary proceedings before the Independent Liquor & Gaming Authority.  The proceedings involved over 30 separate grounds of complaint under the Registered Club Act 1976

Final Decision on Complaint in relation to Paddington Bowling Club Ltd under Part 6A of the Registered Clubs Act 1976

Judicial review proceedings relating to WorkCover’s refusal classify a workplace fatality as a “journey claim” under NSW workers compensation laws for the purposes of calculating insurance premiums
